A vigorous new energy development plan

According to the statistical tracking of Energy Storage and power market, in 2021, a total of 16 regions in China released 183GW of conventional wind power photovoltaic new energy configuration projects. Among them, the scale of photovoltaic projects reached 127GW, accounting for about 70%.
In addition, the integration and large base projects that have been planned and announced involve 204GW in 20 regions.

31GW/60GWh storage list
Despite confusion over the practical effects and doubts about the profitability of the project, the trend of new energy intensive storage will not slow down in 2021.
According to the statistics of energy storage and Power Market on the list of published new energy conventional configuration and integration projects, 13 regions have put forward different levels of energy storage configuration requirements, with a total scale of 31GW/60GWh.
This includes not only the common configuration of energy storage capacity equivalent to 5%-20% of new energy installed capacity, but also the integrated configuration of source network, charge and storage represented by Qinghai and Hebei.
In Inner Mongolia, energy storage accounts for as much as 30% of the installed new energy capacity, resulting in a total increase of 8GW of energy storage.
In addition, in Hubei, Shanxi and other places, the energy storage capacity of new energy configuration directly appears in the supporting list of new energy projects in the form of independent energy storage projects. It is foreseeable that a large amount of energy storage capacity will be built in the form of independent shared projects in the future.
At present, most regions require conventional new energy configuration projects to be connected to the grid from the end of 2022 to the end of 2023, and energy storage projects need to be put into operation at the same time, and the proportion of energy storage configuration requirements are gradually increasing.
Considering the current pressure of rising battery and raw material prices, the economic benefit of energy storage operation is difficult to be effectively guaranteed, and the pressure of new energy project development will appear in the short term.

Abandoned electric recycling

However, areas where new energy is fully consumed, such as the east, do not have this need.
In areas where wind and light are abandoned, when the electricity stored through energy storage is released back to the grid, will it occupy the guaranteed utilization hours of the original scenic power station? If so, the meaning and value of energy storage would be greatly compromised.
Exemption of auxiliary service assessment
This may become one of the main profit models of new energy + energy storage in the future.
The northwest and other regions began to revise the relevant provisions of the two rules from 2019 at the earliest, and put forward the assessment of the performance of the new energy station, such as primary frequency modulation.
However, the new version of The Power System Auxiliary Services Management Measures is clear, new energy stations should have primary frequency modulation, rapid voltage regulation, low voltage/high voltage crossing capacity, voltage and frequency tolerance capacity is in principle consistent with synchronous generator set tolerance capacity. Under the guidance of national policies, more regions will put forward relevant requirements for new energy stations in the future.
However, the coordination and cooperation between energy storage and new energy station is obviously much more complicated than simple charge and discharge operation. How to clarify the ownership of benefits, whether the new energy station is required to independently operate/operate and maintain the energy storage station, and the specific amount of reduced assessment fees are the first problems to be solved in this mode.
Spot market coordination

Under shanxi electric power spot market, a number of scenic power stations, due to overgeneration, generation deviation, encountered a large assessment. For example, the assessment amount of a 150,000-kilowatt wind farm in a certain month exceeds 1.5 million yuan.
Using energy storage to correct the deviation between the predicted power generation curve and the actual curve of wind and photovoltaic power stations is feasible in theory and operation in practice. In 2021, a number of electric power research institutions will focus on the layout of new energy + energy storage applications under spot scenarios, but so far, no actual project has been put into operation through open channels.
The main concern is: Are the theoretical gains consistent with the actual gains? Is the spot market sustainable?
Who will open the new energy + energy storage application scene in 2022? How do I open it?
2022 has to be something to look forward to.
After all, 31GW/60GWh of energy storage, 100 billion of energy storage investment, is not so easy to implement.
